Tom never succeeds in getting hold of Jerry, however, particularly because of the Mouse's intelligence. In more recent episodes, Tom and Jerry show a real fondness for each other. Often Jerry comes to get Tom for new adventures. So it can happen that the mouse comes to save the cat from inextricable situations.
